The 3 Banken Group is a group of independent regional banks which is composed of BKS Bank AG, Bank fuer Tirol und Vorarlberg AG (BTV) and Oberbank AG.
All three banks operate independently in their core regions, which now extend beyond Austria's borders. We all share the determination to maintain our independence, customer-proximity, market know how in the regions and the commitment of our employees.
The 3-Banken Group exploits the synergies created by the shared companies, such as the Drei-Banken-EDV Gesellschaft m.b.H. (IT), the Drei-Banken Versicherungsdienst GmbH (insurance), the 3-Banken-Generali Investment-Gesellschaft m.b.H. (investment funds), and the Alpenländische Garantie-Gesellschaft m.b.H., which safeguards us against loan loss risks.
There are mutual participations among the 3-Banken. Together with other strategic shareholders, who have also joined together in syndicates and with other shareholders, there is continuing interest to maintain the independence of the 3-Banken (shareholder structure). The 3-Banken Group is thus protected from external influences and the decisions are made exclusively in the interests of the customers, employees and shareholders.
The three institutes employ around 3,700 staff overall, the combined balance sheet total amounts to over EUR 30 bn. The customers have a dense network of branches and offices at their disposal: more than about 230 branches throughout Austria as well as branch- and representative offices in Bavaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Italy and Switzerland.
